Notcutts posts a 20% rise in profits

Family-owned Notcutts Garden Centre group has revealed a 20% rise in operating profits for its latest financial year.
Headquartered in Woodbridge and with 18 garden centres up and down the UK, the group revealed turnover of £67.8m for the year to February 29, an increase of more than 6% from the year before.
Operating profits grew to £1.29m from £1.08m. The year saw investment in the redevelopment of Wheatcroft garden centre in Nottingham and Woodford Park garden centre in Cheshire.
Said chairman Nicky Dulieu: "We are clearly pleased with our financial performance for last year which demonstrates the success of our customer service and improved product offerings as well as the investments already made.
"Our newly developed centres continue to prove really popular with our customers and this has reinforced our strategy to redevelop our garden centres over the next five years."
