Twenty Beaver Scouts from Hereford are well on the way to achieving their Global Challenge Badge thanks to a donation from a plant nursery in the city.
Wyevale Nurseries donated plants, compost and pots to the 22nd Hereford Beavers so they could make a potted plant gift for their mums for Mother's Day.
Beaver Leader Steve Faulds said: "We would like to say a huge thank you to Wyevale Nurseries for their donation. This activity was one of the criteria for the Beavers to gain their Global Challenge Badge. It's one step towards them gaining their Chief Scout Bronze Award, which is the highest award a Beaver can receive. It can only be awarded once all six challenge badges are achieved as well as many other activity badges.
"The young Beavers all enjoyed the gardening activity and their mums were delighted with their gifts."
Wyevale Nurseries sales and marketing director Adam Dunnett added: "We think it is very important to help promote gardening to the young generation. We hope this experience has given a few of the children green fingers."
