Oak Furniture Land defends Christmas delivery claim

Published: 11 February 2015
Oak Furniture Land has successfully backed up its claim in a television advertisement that customers could have their goods in time for Christmas.
Oak Furniture Land defends Christmas delivery claim
The ad said that Christmas delivery was guaranteed. But someone complained to the Advertising Standards Authority (ASA), challenging whether the claim could be substantiated.

In reply, Oak Furniture Land stated that all its products were available for guaranteed pre-Christmas delivery at the time the ad was broadcast, November 3-5 2014. The company provided a stock report for all its products during the period the ad was aired, which showed that most were in stock, and the remainder - which were in the process of being delivered to the warehouses - were also available for delivery before Christmas while the ad was on.

The ASA accepted the response and did not uphold the challenge.
