Oaklands Garden Centre founder dies

Published: 1 September 2015
Steven Clarke, the owner of Oaklands Garden Centre and Nursery in Laceby, Lincolnshire, has died.
The 56-year-old passed away last month after suffering from a neuroendocrine tumour.

A keen gardener, Mr Clarke and his wife Lorraine established the garden centre 30 years ago, and their two children, Lucy and Joe, his mother Norma and mother-in-law Josie have all been involved in the business.

Mr Clarke was also a member of the Rotary Club and Masons and had served as a councillor on Laceby Parish Council.

Mrs Clarke told the Grimsby Telegraph: "He saw the positive in everything." Son Joe said: "I haven't just lost my dad. He was my business partner, friend, teacher and mentor."

Lucy added: "My dad was a truly special man, an inspiration."
