Wickes pays tribute to its 'Good Idea' man who passed away last month.
A well-known home improvement writer and broadcaster, who also ran his own DIY business in Surrey, MR Burrell first started work with Wickes when there were just 17 stores in the chain.
According to the company, his wealth of knowledge and expertise over the years proved invaluable to both Wickes and its customers.
Mr Burrell was responsible for writing over 120 Good Idea Leaflets and was also involved in the development of new products introduced to the market, including DIY conservatories and much more.
In the early eighties, Mr Burell was a regular presenter on LBC and several regional stations. He prided himself on always appearing live and being able to answer any question that was thrown at him - seldom was he lost for words.
He Burrell retired in 2001 but continued his association with Wickes for a further three years as a consultant, writing instructions, testing products and providing PR support.
Sadly Mr Burrell passed away on Sunday, April 19. Wickes' sympathies are with his wife and children.
