A customer at a garden centre in Buckinghamshire was left red faced after she drove straight into a greenhouse on display near the car park.
Dan Hildreth, assistant manager at Mr Hildreth's garden centre, watched as the woman hit the accelerator pedal instead of the brake as she went to reverse out of her parking space, plunging her convertible straight into the glass greenhouse.
The incident amounted to about £1,000 worth of damage to the greenhouse, and about £3,000 worth of damage to the car, estimated Mr Hildreth.
"It's all scratched so it will need respraying," he said. "The customer's alright though, she got straight out and got her handbag out of the car, and we gave her a lift home."
Luckily, the Hildreths were able to contact their insurance company who sent round a tow truck. After removing all the glass and tying all the metal parts together with cables so the greenhouse wouldn't collapse, they were finally able to tow the car out.
The family-owned business in Prestwood comprises a garden centre, ironmonger and kitchenwares department, as well as a café and gift shop.
