London-based hardware company, Plank Hardware, has launched a curated selection of its quality hardware products on B&Q’s website — diy.com — in a significant expansion move for the D2C business.
Co-founded in 2019 by married couple, Tom and Annie Revill, Plank Hardware was born out of frustration at being unable to source trend-led hardware designs offering good quality at a fair price point. Now employing 22 staff and designing the majority of its products from its North East London HQ, the B Corp Certified design company offers categories including; cabinet hardware, internal door hardware, kitchen mixer taps and accessories.
Plank Hardware’s Creative Director, Tom Revill, says: “We’re incredibly excited to team up with the household name that is B&Q — the most recognised retailer for DIY products — in a bid to position our products in front of more homeowners and trade professionals. Having concentrated on selling direct to consumers via our website until now, this partnership presents an opportunity to scale demand for the high-quality, cost-friendly products that we’ve seen great response to since launching in 2019.”
Nicky Fisher, B&Q Category Director, says: “We are delighted to partner with Plank Hardware, extending the choice of hardware products for our customers on diy.com with its contemporary, and unique designs. We are excited to be able to work with Plank Hardware to inspire customers who want to elevate their kitchen cabinets, upcycle pre-loved furniture or update home spaces.”
Plank Hardware launched on diy.com on Friday 19th January, with a selection of cabinet handles and knobs, plus internal door lever handles and mortice knobs. Prices start from £6.95.
