Plasplugs resurrected by founder
Stuart Turner and his son Neale, both former directors of the firm, have acquired the business and assets of Plasplugs through their newly formed company Turner Intl Limited (TIL).

Plasplugs, founded by Stuart Turner in the early 1970s went into administration in March this year, owing more than £5m in bank loans against a turnover of £18m a year.

In February DIY Week reported that a number of Plasplugs staff arrived at work to find the Burton-on-Trent site deserted, with a hand-written sign in the window that simply read: "shop shut today".

The offices never reopened, with staff left in limbo until administrators MCR were officially called in on March 11.

TIL, of which Stuart Turner will act as chairman and Neale as chief executive, plans to operate the newly acquired Plasplugs at a smaller level than before, taking on between 'two and three dozen' employees - around a third of its previous workforce. It is reported that some former employees will return.

TIL was created by the Turners on January 29, 2009, before Plasplugs had fallen into administration, with a series of new board appointments from February 3.

So the Turner family planned the Administration of Plasplugs and set up their new company in January 2 months before it went into Administration. They Blamed B&Q, Homebase etc for their demise yet all along it was the greed and mis management by the family which drove this once great name into the ground. The loyal staff were not paid nether were many small businesses who either supplied goods and services to Plasplugs. Customers were lead on with promises as were the staff by the ethically bankrupt people. With 8m of debt walked away from are these people really fit to trade again? No Way stay away.

Why should anyone put this article in as good news!! When you tell everyone that the Turner family paid all there debts off from the original Plasplugs company that failed, then its good. Burton Mail, get us the facts. Why put a positive twist on all the ex suppliers and ex employees of Plasplugs giving the Turner family a 5 million pay out for running a failed business!!! Burton people think about this when you see the Turner family driving around in expensive cars, you paid for them!!!!!
