British paint, varnish and wood care manufacturer Polyvine has appointed David Clayton as national sales manager covering its specialist stockist, general retail and professional user markets throughout the UK.
His remit is to build sales for the company's high performance branded decorating and wood care ranges with existing and new accounts and to create a national sales team for the company. Mr Clayton lives in the Midlands and prior to his new role with Polyvine, he was head of field sales for Centurion Europe, the hardware, homewares, decorative and garden wholesaler and distributor.
Commenting on his appointment, he said, "I have considerable experience and excellent contacts in the decorative, builders and timber merchant sector so Polyvine is a superb opportunity for me and for the team I aim to recruit. The company's technical expertise is second to none, it has an ambitious product development programme which is very much on trend, it is a great UK manufacturer and there are massive opportunities to drive the brand."
Cheddar-based Polyvine's managing director Ian Wells said, "UK and international sales are growing very well and we have a number of new products to bring to the professional and retail markets which are technically superior to the leading brands.
"With the right support, I am confident that we can make considerable inroads and potentially change a lot of the received thinking in the wood care, varnish and specialist paints categories. Appointing Dave is a first step in building a really effective and committed sales team. We are also increasing our marketing spend to support the sales drive and we look forward to some great results. The products are best in class and getting the message across to stockists and end users is very much the priority."
