Power tools stolen in white van raid

Tools and equipment shop The Stores Dept in Uckfield, Sussex, was targeted by burglars during the night of Sunday, March 26.

The offenders broke into the shop just before 7.25pm by forcing open the shutters. They activated an alarm and made off with a number of professional power tools in a white Transit-style van no more than three or four minutes later.

Police say they think there were “a number of offenders, all wearing hooded tops or hats, head torches and gloves.”

One man was captured on CCTV near the building, appearing to cover his face as he approached the building. Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them on 101 quoting reference 1104 of 26/3.
