UK Point of Sale is calling all independent retailers to make the most of the big events this summer through their window displays, promising an iPad to the best celebratory shop-front this July.
In support of the independent sector and tying in with Independent Retailer Month, UK POS is inviting all relevant retailers to send in photos of their windows by July 31. It comes as research by the group showed more than half of all consumers would be more likely to enter a shop with a Made in Britain themed window as the country gears up for the Jubilee, Olympics, Wimbledon and England's hopes in Euro 2012.
Retailers can enter via Twitter or Facebook by uploading to the UK POS Facebook page, or send a photo directly to the group's Twitter address. Only one entry per retailer will be counted, but multiple photos of the same display are welcome.
A winner will be selected by UK POS md Jason Leslie, and sales and marketing director Debra Jamieson, who said: "Although we work with big name retailers across the country, we also work with a huge number of independent retailers.
"UK POS is an official supporter of Independent Retailer Month and as this summer is a really exciting one for Britain, we wanted to reward the Independent Retailers that go all out with their window displays to drive footfall.
"We pride ourselves on supplying the very best point of sale materials for retailers and this competition is aiming to reward the creativity in the independent sector."
