After more than a year in fruition QD Stores has launched its new transactional website and revealed plans to open four new stores.
QD Stores announced in August last year it would be opening a new online channel and now it has finally happened for the value retailer.
The launch is a big step forward and quite a substantial investment for QD Stores as the retailer moves in an omnichannel direction.
The transactional offering on the retailer's previous website was limited to 150 lines, but now customers can buy from thousands of products.
A spokesman for the company told diyweek.net: "We wanted a website which deploys all available means to the customer. Providing them a way in which they can buy what they like when they like.
"This is a real step forward for QD and an enormous investment in terms of infrastructure and time.
"The website changes the whole dynamic of our brand marketing operation, but it doesn't change the bricks and mortar aspect of the company. We have no plans to scale back operations and are currently in discussions to open four more stores.
"We are excited at the prospects this website will bring. We are really pleased and everything has gone according to plan."
The transactional offering on the website will change with the seasons and when QD Stores adds new lines.
