Rainy Day Trust awarded Big Lottery Grant

Published: 19 January 2017 - Jenny Wonnacott

The Rainy Day Trust (RDT) has been awarded £8,790 by the Big Lottery through its Awards for All scheme to support the Trust's work with older people.

The grant will be spent on expanding the help given by its volunteers, as well as expanding the telephone counselling and legal advice service.

Rainy Day Trust CEO, Bryan Clover said RDT was extremely proud to make the announcement and the grant would make a tremendous difference to what they can deliver. “By giving our volunteers web-enabled tablets, we can show our older beneficiaries the help that we can offer, right there in their own homes.

It will help us to give the benefits of the internet to those that are not connected to the net, and will raise awareness of our services.  We want to have a bigger impact out there in the community, and this grant will help us to achieve that."
