The event was sponsored by Henkel but was supported by companies Akzo Nobel, the BHF, the Business Design Centre, BHETA, Calor, Crown Paints, DIY Week, Home Décor, Liberon, MDA, Plasti-kote, Poores of Acton, Real Edge, RoDO, Ronseal, Tembe DIY Products and Toolbank.

The day's award for Top Individual went to Mark Evans a guest of Henkel with a score of 36, just pipping Max Crosby- Browne from Home Décor who won the runner- up trophy.

The overall team award went to our very own DIY week team captained by chairman John Gould. The team (pictured L-R) were Liam Hyland, Decco; Steve McIntyre, PPG; Rachael Pearson, DIY Week (non-player), John Gould, DIY Week and Mike Jackson, REL Group.

The event, which included dinner and entertainment, will contribute almost £10,000 to the Rainy Day Trust. The 2009 Golf Classic will take place on Thursday October 1 again at Brocket Hall. For details contact Michael Dark at mda.mail@virgin.net.
