Rainy Day Trust gets in the swing

More than 90 golfers from the industry's suppliers, service providers and leading retailers took part in the annual Rainy Day Golf Challenge at Brocket hall.
The event was sponsored by Henkel but was supported by companies Akzo Nobel, the BHF, the Business Design Centre, BHETA, Calor, Crown Paints, DIY Week, Home Décor, Liberon, MDA, Plasti-kote, Poores of Acton, Real Edge, RoDO, Ronseal, Tembe DIY Products and Toolbank.
The day's award for Top Individual went to Mark Evans a guest of Henkel with a score of 36, just pipping Max Crosby- Browne from Home Décor who won the runner- up trophy.
The overall team award went to our very own DIY week team captained by chairman John Gould. The team (pictured L-R) were Liam Hyland, Decco; Steve McIntyre, PPG; Rachael Pearson, DIY Week (non-player), John Gould, DIY Week and Mike Jackson, REL Group.
The event, which included dinner and entertainment, will contribute almost £10,000 to the Rainy Day Trust. The 2009 Golf Classic will take place on Thursday October 1 again at Brocket Hall. For details contact Michael Dark at
