Rainy Day Trust launches collecting tins

Published: 26 September 2008
Hardware and diy retailers throughout the UK are being encouraged to support the Rainy Day Trust's latest fund-raising initiative: collecting tins.
Rainy Day Trust launches collecting tins
The trust is hoping to place hundreds of the tins on shop counters, beside tills, and in staff rooms and canteens - anywhere where cash transactions take place and where people can be encouraged to put their loose change in the tin.

"All a retailer has to do is call us for a tin, collect donations, and when it's full bank the cash and write us a cheque," said Trust president Ashley Leboff.

The Rainy Day Trust is the specialist charity for the hardware housewares, garden and diy industry, looking after people who have worked in the industry and who now find they need a helping hand.
To get a collecting tin, call the Trust on 01604 622023, or email rainyday@brookehouse.co.uk.
