Rolawn says turf prices are set to rise

Turf prices are going to rise over the next couple of years following difficult growing conditions throughout the UK, Rolawn has warned.
Europe's largest turf grower said the drought and heat of last summer lead to increased irrigation costs for growers.
It added that this year's heavy rainfall and flooding has exacerbated the situation and with oil price rises, both will cause increased drainage costs and damage to stock.
The company's managing director Paul Dawson said the variation in weather conditions in the UK over the last two years has lead it to develop new turf mixtures to address the British climate.
