Rug Doctor appoints new UK president and md

Carpet cleaning rental firm announces that Kuldip Dosanjh will take up the role of president and managing director in the UK.
Mr Dosanjh will take up the position on November 22, leaving his current role as general manager at Parker Logistics after four and a half years. He brings with him a wealth of experience, with a career spanning 27 years in the consumer goods industry. Previous roles have included consumer markets md at Dunnhumby and European healthcare customer marketing director at Procter and Gamble.
Mr Dosanjh's appointment follows the departure of Mike Holden in August to take over the running of Rug Doctor operations in Australia.
RugDoctor's UK operations are expanding, with rentals at their highest ever levels over the past few years, according to the company. Rug Doctor machines can now be rented from every B&Q, Homebase, Focus DIY, Johnsons the Cleaners and Morrisons supermarkets as well as selected Tesco, Sainsbury, Somerfield/The Cooperative and a number of other quality independent stores. The firm has also recently pushed into Ireland and says it is now focusing on mainland Europe.
Mr Dosanjh said of these expansion plans: "In the UK alone, our aim is to double the number of rental outlets over the next two years - this would match the per capita that the US parent company has achieved without reaching a saturation point. In Europe, we have made a good start but we need to drive into the big countries like Germany and France."
