Ryder has become the sole trailer supplier to Topps Tiles, the UK's largest tile specialist retailer. The contract has commenced with Ryder supplying 17 trailers, which herald the introduction of Topps Tiles' new livery.
The 17 SDC curtainsiders are fitted with Moffett Mounty forklifts. A further 10 trailers will be renewed by Ryder later in the year.
Topps Tiles national transport manager Kevin Smith said: "We went through a rigorous tender process and were looking for a partner who understood our business culture and operational demands. Ryder was the perfect fit and we could see that we could develop a long-term relationship. Innovation and continuous improvement is key to us and we saw Ryder as an innovative leader in its industry."
Topps Tiles' fleet operates from a distribution centre in Leicester, which serves more than 340 stores via six outbases (Mossend, Widnes, Doncaster, Thurrock, Greenford and Portbury) managed by Wincanton.
The new livery, as featured on the trailers, is being rolled out across the Topps Tiles fleet. "Our vehicles are our billboard, and by far our largest advertising tool, whether travelling on the road network or parked outside our stores, so it is imperative that the livery presents a strong brand image and consistent message," says Sian O'Neill, Topps Tiles head of marketing. "By changing our livery, we will also demonstrate to all of our stakeholders, whether they are customers, colleagues or suppliers, that 'we go miles for our love of tiles!'"
Ryder sales and marketing director Robin White added: "Topps Tiles is a market-leader in its sector. At Ryder, we understand how important it is to such a business that its supplier partners understand and appreciate its culture, its operational demands, and match its progress. We look forward to extending our relationship with Topps Tiles."
