Sainsbury's given three week extension on Argos bid

UK supermarket giant Sainsbury's has been given three weeks to decide whether it will offer a bid to counter
Steinhoff's £1.42bn proposal for Argos.
Sainsbury's orginally had until 5pm today (Tuesday, February 23) to make a firm bid on the Home Retail Group retailer, but following the game-changing bid from South African retailer Steinhoff International, both companies have now been given until March 18 to finalise their offers, according to Retail Week.
Sainsbury's has previously stated it would not 'overpay' for the HRG retailer.
