Hardware industry charity the Rainy Day Trust is almost £1,100 better off, after a charity sale at DIY Week publisher Faversham House Group on March 9.
Products were donated by dozens of companies, with Toolbank in particular handing over nearly all the contents of its stand at Totally Tools, with the support of its main suppliers: Stanley, Bahco,. Irwin and Black & Decker.
The full list of companies and brands donating products, in alphabetical order, includes: Abus, Advent Tools, Arrow, Bahco Tools, Beacon Products, Black & Decker, Channellock, Crown Paints, Einhell, Euro Hardware, Evo-Stik, Faithfull Tools, Great Star, GT85, Hozelock, Irwin Industrial Tools, Kingspan, Liberon, Marshalltown, Mirka Abrasives, Monument Tools, Nitromors, Procter Bros, Ragni, Rapid, Ryobi, Sadolin, Salter Housewares, Sandtex, Simplehuman, Stabila, Stanley, Solvite, Sycamore Products, T&G Woodware, Toolbank, Typhoon, Unibond, Wagner, Woodbury, X-Act, Yale, and Zamba Shelving.
The sale has raised a total of £1,091.50 so far - a figure which should increase after some of the unsold products are listed on eBay. DIY Week is also setting up a Rainy Day Trust sale table in Faversham House reception, so staff and visitors can continue to contribute to the Trust's funds.
"On behalf of the Rainy Day Trust, our sincere thanks to everyone who supported us," said DIY Week publisher Colin Petty, who is also the RDT vice-president. "The industry's generosity in donating products has been quite extraordinary."
