Lightning Paint Rollers has been bought up by the giant Nespoli Group, who are expanding their UK interests.
Nespoli, Europe's largest manufacturer of decorating brushes, rollers, tools and accessories, is expanding its UK arm by adding the firm to its books.
Lightning was founded in 1955 by Robert Mair and is currently based in a 50,000sq ft factory south of Edinburgh where it manufactures paint rollers, trays and other decorating products.
In December 2005 the business was bought from the Mair family by two private investors who have now sold it on to Nespoli.
Nespoli who, before the deal, had eight factories throughout Europe and one in China only entered the UK market in 1999 setting up in Queensbury, West Yorkshire.
In addition to the main factory and distribution outlets the Group also has subsidiary companies in the UK, Poland, Portugal and Benelux.
