Screwfix appoints Jim Chadwick as head of trade

Home Hardware head of buying Jim Chadwick has left the dealer-owned wholesale distributor to join the multi-channel retailer of trade tools, accessories and hardware products Screwfix today in the role of head of trade.
Jim has worked for Home Hardware since November 2015, managing a team of buyers with a wide portfolio of DIY, home, garden and leisure products.
Prior to that he spent 17 years at The Range, latterly as a buyer. Over the years his role at the home, garden and leisure retailer, which operates over 140 stores nationwide, encompassed buying for paint; wallcoverings; decorating accessories; sundries; window fashions (poles and blinds); bathroom accessories and furnishings; automotive; flooring; electrical products including heating and large appliances; and hardware and tools.
Jim said: “The developments at Home Hardware, particularly with the expansion of own-label products, will continue after I have gone. The buying team will continue to manage the supplier relationships.”
He added: “Home Hardware has been hugely supportive and I have learnt a lot working with ceo Martin Elliott. The unique relationship Home Hardware has with the members it supplies has been a very important part of my career."
