Screwfix launches standalone bathroom proposition
Published: 8 February 2011
New concept designed to engage both tradesmen and consumers, with first store already open in Stoke on Trent.
The 3,000sq ft standalone bathroom store is located at Screwfix's in Stoke on Trent branch, adjacent to the main trade counter.
The showroom-style store, which offers products including heated towel rails, bathroom lighting, freestanding baths and double shower cubicles, is designed to blend the needs of the 'inspiration-seeking' consumer shopper with the 'component-led', catalogue layout demanded by the typical Screwfix trade purchaser.
Screwfix commercial director Andrew Livingston explained: "Our new showroom concept is a step change in presentation and experience which specifically responds to what our customers are telling us they want and need... The result is a unique environment that enables both audiences to shop the way they please, but that also brings them together so that tradesmen and customer can browse and specify together."
The showroom features colour-coded, catalogue-coordinated displays mounted on the wall to aid navigation, whilst also boasting interactive features, such as removable taps, so that purchasers can mix and match against baths or basins. Retail prices and technical details are also clearly shown together with separate price lists for installers.
