Screwfix has confirmed that there will be no let-up in its ambitious opening programme, which should see a further 60 stores launched in the UK this year.
The retailer has called in real estate specialist Colliers International to help it identify 15 new sites each quarter in order to expand its existing network of 303 stores nationwide. Sixty were opened last year.
Screwfix's aim is to bring 91% of the population within a 30-minute drive of one of its outlets.
Colliers International's Danielle Hatton said: "While many major players are moving their retail operation online Screwfix have also invested heavily in their stores, where their click-and-collect system is proving popular with both trade and public customers."
The company has been briefed to acquire existing or new-build units of between 4,500 and 11,000sq ft in areas offering good access to population centres.
Screwfix's property manager, James Taylor, said: "We're keen to speak to any landlords that might have suitable sites available to lease."
