Screwfix sales continue to grow
Published: 28 September 2007
First half results for the trade outlet show it growing from strength to strength after a 30.3% increase in sales to over £200 million.
Screwfix said the positive results over the 26 weeks ending August 4 2007 stemmed from an expanded catalogue, which now contains over 17,000 products, and the successful and continued roll out of Trade Counters.
Simon O'Mahony, head of marketing at Screwfix said: "As at 21 September, 2007 we had opened a total of 75 Trade Counters across the UK and are absolutely delighted with the results."
He added: "Sales from both our catalogue and award-winning website at screwfix.com have also continued to grow and the recent addition of over 2,000 new products across more than 1,000 pages has highlighted our commitment to offering the best leading brands and exclusive products at value-for-money prices."
The business also introduced a new online search capability that helps customers to find what they are looking for more quickly and easily.
Screwfix estimtes it despatches, on average, more than 70,000 parcels a week.
