During the last 12 months Screwfix has sent no waste to landfill, instead recycling 100% of it.
Around 5,860 tonnes of waste was collected from Screwfix's 344 stores, between February 2013 and January 2014, and then sorted.
The retailer then worked with a recycling company to come up solutions on what to do with the waste.

Kingfisher's Net Positive restorative approach to business.
This news comes as Kingfisher released its first full year of results for the initiative.
Group chief executive Ian Cheshire said: "Becoming restorative requires transformative change management within our business and winning the hearts and minds of our colleagues, our suppliers and our customers."
