Screwfix website glitch reduces all items to £34.99

Screwfix.com suffered a glitch overnight that saw the price of all items reduced to just £34.99, and customers bagged some bargains, some buying thousands of pounds worth of goods.
All items on the website, including ride-on mowers, that usually cost thousands of pounds, were reduced to the bargain price at the checkout stage. The Telegraph today reported of one customer who bought a sit-on mower, worth £1,599.99 for just £34.99.
It also reported that quick-thinking customers took to Twitter last night to advertise Screwfix's inadvertent sale. However, the website was closed down this morning. A message said the site was experiencing technical issues and the online store was temporarily unavailable.
Screwfix.com is now back online and customers may be disappointed to know that the problem has been fixed. Customers are waiting to hear if the retailer will honour the purchases that were made while the prices were reduced.
The Telegraph said the customer who bought the £1,600 sit-on mower was sent a confirmation email and a shipping invoice, informing them that the product had been dispatched.
Other customers appeared to have experienced problems collecting their purchases, with one posting online that Screwfix had demanded that he returned his item.
