Leisurewear supplier gets involved in world record attempt to launch new wellie range.
Outdoor leisurewear supplier Scribble is putting its best foot forward in a colourful bid to smash a world record and launch its latest range of wellies.
The company is providing a team for 'Give it Sum Wellie' on Sunday, September 28 – a 2km race in Wellington boots, which organisers hope will set a new Guinness World Record for the largest number of people racing in the waterproof footwear.
Scribble is also offering race participants a free pair of wellies when they buy their first pair.
The company says the family event, in aid of Staffordshire's Donna Louise Children's Hospice Trust, is the perfect opportunity to launch its latest range of fun children's wellies.
Scribble's parent company, RKW, is a corporate sponsor of the event.
RKW managing director Nigel Moult said: "As soon as I heard about the world record attempt, I could see what a fantastic event it was, and it's a privilege for us to be involved – the hospice is literally down the road and we were keen to help.
"Teams are made up of four people and we are encouraging as many of our staff as possible to take part."
The Donna Louise Children's Hospice Trust is urging people to get involved and join them for the boot race at Trentham Estates in Stoke.
"We are very grateful to RKW for their support," said fundraising manager, Sylvia Pearl. "As one of several corporate sponsors, they're enabling us to get the word out about the event and more importantly, a team from RKW is taking part."
"We have the massive task of raising £2m every year to keep supporting children with life threatening or life limiting conditions. This is a really fun way to help us."
