Published: 18 October 2013
The line-up of the HTA Seasonal Plants Focus Conference has been added to, as Nicky Roeber from The Garden Centre Group joins the list of speakers.
The Conference is taking place on Thursday, November 21, at Young Plants Ltd in Stratford upon Avon. The HTA expects it to be another popular year and says it is "the key event in the seasonal and bedding plant sector for growers and retailers".
Collaborate, innovate and succeed is the theme for the conference, which is sponsored by Bulrush, Floramedia and Young Plants Ltd, which brings a wealth of industry experts together to discuss and debate latest issues affecting seasonal and bedding plant growers.
A host of guest speakers will be presenting at the event and Nicky Roeber, TGCG's plant buyer, has been added to the list. He will speak about the Group's operations and stock/order processes, click and collect and relationships with suppliers and growers.
"I have a lifelong love affair with plants and all things garden - a seed sewn by my grandmother when I was a child and my parents were also passionate gardeners. I have worked in variety of retail, mail order and online garden and curt flower-based businesses as a consultant and employee. I started at The Garden Centre Group in February 2012."
Mr Roeber will also be joined by Philip Evason, founder of Supply Chain and Procurement Solution, Peter McDermott, Managing Director of You Garden Ltd and Graham Dunn, Managing Director of Cresco Horticulture.
This year's programme is split into four sessions: how growers and retailers should work together to increase sales; extending the season and range; future opportunities for the garden industry and collaboration and smarter working.
The conference will be preceded by a dinner the night before at the Alveston Manor Hotel in Stratford upon Avon, which will feature an after-dinner talk by Boyd Douglas-Davies, Chief Executive of The Hillview Group.
