Shoots grows with third acquisition
Shoots has strengthened its foothold in the South Eastern garden centre market after acquiring Seymours Garden Centre in Cobham, Surrey for an undisclosed sum.

Shoots Garden Centres of Slough, Berkshire will rebrand Seymours as Shoots Cobham, however it will continue with the Cobham site's renowned offer of plants and gardening, landscaping, aquatics, home and outdoor living and a 100-seater restaurant/cafe.

Shoots acquired two sites centres in October 2004 and July 2007 as part of its plans to build a group of contemporary garden centres.

Shoots' directors Piers Mummery and Jamie Malcolm said the transaction is in line with their acquisition strategy to accelerate the company's growth.

The acquisition takes the combined Shoots proposition to three centres with more than 200 staff and a turnover in excess of £8.5million.

"The team in Cobham are very experienced and we are very excited at the prospect of working with them. We are committed to the growth and expansion of our business and these are exciting times," Piers Mummery said of the purchase.
