Havelock Europa has released its year-end results for 2013 ending December 31, which show a leap in pre-tax profit to £0.6m, compared to a loss of £0.5m in 2012.
This return to profit has been driven by an improvement in key market areas for the company.
Havelock Europa said it made good progress in the retail sector and benefited from a high level of activity in the financial sector.
Ceo of Havelock Europa, Eric Prescott, said: "With a number of new customers secured in new areas of the retail sector and new wins in the financial sector, we view the future with optimism."
This is Havelock Europa's first pre-tax profit result since 2008 and the company hopes that as retail activity continues to grow 2014 will be as fruitful as 2013.
Havelock Europa has fitted out some of the UK high street's leading stores, including M&S, House of Fraser and Primark.
The company employs about 200 people at its factory in Kirkcaldy.
