Somerset-based manufacturer Silverline has been appointed official tool supplier to the Red Bull Soapbox Race this summer.
Now in its 15th year, the global event - to be held on Sunday, July 12 at Alexandra Palace - is expected to attract up to 20,000 spectators in London as they watch 70 teams race homemade soapbox vehicles down the steep road of the historic venue. Teams will be judged on speed, creativity and showmanship.
"We were thrilled when Red Bull approached us to get involved," said Silverline global brand manager Rob Henry. "Silverline is already working with a few of the Red Bull athletes
and this event is a perfect match for our brand and our products."
On the day, Silverline, which supplies more than 5,000 hand and power tools to traders throughout the UK and mainland Europe, will be supplying tool kits for each of the competing teams and providing support.
