South London wholesaler in liquidation

Published: 17 February 2010
New Cross-based cash and carry operation WACS Trade Centre appointed liquidators earlier this month and reached a resolution to wind up the business last week (Feb 8).
The wholesaler, formerly part of United Housewares Merchants (UHM) last filed accounts in March 2009, which showed a turnover of just under £2.1m for the year to march 31 2008 and a gross profit of £435k.

A creditors meeting was called on Jan 15 this year and the decision subsequently taken to wind operations up. No one from WACS was available for comment. The main telephone line is manned by an answerphone and the company's web domain www.wacstradecentre.com is up for sale.
