Wins Gallup Great Workplace Award for second year running.
B&Q has won a Gallup Great Workplace Award for the second year running.
The diy retailer – the only UK employer to receive an award, and one of nine repeat winners – received the honour for its commitment to 'employee engagement'.
Martyn Phillips, hr director at B&Q, said: "We are delighted to receive this award as it really recognises the huge strides we have taken to put employee engagement at the heart of our business. Our people are the key to success in the current economic market."
The winners were chosen from hundreds of applicants using a survey-based programme that allowed companies to measure and manage employee engagement.
Six out of 10 B&Q employees were calculated to be 'actively engaged' with their work, more than twice as many as the global average of 28%.
The Gallup Great Workplace Award was created to recognize companies for their ability to create an engaged workplace culture.
"The winners have gone far beyond just offering nice perks and benefits. They have created an environment that truly engages people every day, throughout the organization," said Tom Rath, head of Gallup's Workplace and Leadership Consulting practice.
The awards will be presented with their awards during a gala on the evening of May 14.
