Staff role changes at Grosvenor Garden Centre

Chester's Grosvenor Garden Centre has seen a number of changes to staff following its acquisition earlier this year by Blue Diamond Group.
They include the departure of managing director Iain Wylie, along with a number of transfers, promotions and redundancies.
Blue Diamond managing director Alan Roper told diyweek.net that Mr Wylie had left voluntarily as a result of a number of the office roles at Grosvenor, including his, being duplicated within Blue Diamond Group head office.
"Iain was offered the opportunity to join the Blue Diamond Group within two senior roles, both of which he declined for personal reasons," said Mr Roper.
Blue Diamond's purchase of Grosvenor from the Grosvenor Estate, on which it is sited, resulted in the duplication of 11 roles in total. Two employees have now transferred to work for the estate, two have opted for early retirement and four have been promoted to roles within Blue Diamond Group. Only administrative functions were affected.
"We made every effort to retain the full complement of Grosvenor staff and, in particular, we did all we could to offer Iain suitable employment opportunities," Mr Roper said.
