Stanley Tool Jury helps raise £10,000 for charity

Stanley has honoured its pledge to donate £10,000 to charity after its Tool Jury completed a gruelling 72-hour challenge.
The company enlisted the muscle and expertise of the jury - a group of builders and tradesmen who test and review Stanley's tools - to transform a vast office space at Stanley's Brackmills distribution centre into a showroom, meeting space and training centre. The completion target was 72 hours but the jury, who gave their time for free, achieved their goal in just 55 hours.
Keeping its end of the bargain, Stanley has now donated £10,000 to The Lighthouse Club, which supports the families of workers from the construction industry who have been hit by financial crisis.
Chief executive of The Lighthouse Club, Sue Nelson, who was presented with a cheque on the day, thanked both Stanley and the Tool Jury, who "really have made a difference".
David Osborne, marketing director at Stanley Black and Decker, commented: "We're delighted with the success of the Big Rebuild and very grateful to the Tool Jury for donating their time and expertise to help us give something back' to their industry. The build was a challenge for all involved but one they threw themselves into wholeheartedly and completed in a fantastic time."
