Stranger Things fans clear B&Q out of LED lights

B&Q has reported a shortage of LED multi-coloured lights due to fans of Netflix series Stranger Things attempting to recreate an iconic scene from the show.
The retailer has said that 90% of its LED stock has gone as fans attempt to copy the scene where Winona Ryder uses similar lights to try and contact her son, who has been lost in "the upside down", a nightmarish parallel universe.
B&Q's market director for Christmas Mike Norton said, "The popularity of ‘Stranger Things’ has had a completely unexpected effect on the sale of our multicolour Christmas string lights this year. We’ve seen a huge spike in demand and the lights are by far our bestselling range thanks to the show’s huge following.”
Signs are now appearing on the lights saying "this product should not be used to contact the upside down."
Mr Norton added, "Despite the similarity in the lights, we’d like to remind customers that this product should not be used to try to contact the ‘upside down’. B&Q cannot claim any responsibility for Demogorgon-related damage to homes this Christmas.”
Netflix recently confirmed a second series of Stranger Things would launch in 2017.
