Strong sales for Ironmongery Direct

Ironmongery Direct has continued its trend-bucking year with another quarter of like-for-like growth, growing operating profit for the quarter by 45%.
The last nine months have seen the company turnover £7.2m, meaning they are well on the way to hitting their target of £10m for the year. Operating profit in Q3 (to the end of September 2009) rose 45% from £199.8k to £290.6k compared with the same quarter in 2008.
Managing director Wayne Lysaght Mason said: "I am delighted we are still on track to reach our £10m target, which shows 40% year-on-year growing in what continues to be a difficult market. This growth allows us to continue to invest in the business, both people and processes to improve our offering to customers."
