Successful golf day and charity auction held by Lords Builders Merchants

Lords Builders Merchants held its annual golf day and charity auction with customers and suppliers making generous donations.
60 of its customers and suppliers attended the west London-based company's golf day, with 30 more people attending the evening dinner. The golf day has always been "a great favourite with Lords customers in the five years it has been held", said the company. Each year Lords nominates a charity for the day and holds an auction in the evening, offering prizes and events, to help raise funds for the charity.
This year's charity was Save the Children, with special emphasis on child labour in Ecuador. 8% of children between five and 14 years of age there are engaged in full time work, most commonly in agriculture, construction and mining.
"The auction was highly successful with generous donations received of £2,500. This will be further supplemented by Lords with a £7,500 donation from the Lords Foundation," the company said.
