The Vital Earth product range is made by recycling garden waste in the company's 8 million plant at Ashbourne, Derbyshire, the largest in vessel composting site in the UK. Forestry products and nutrients derived from the food industry are added and the resulting product is graded and blended to create a range of over 30 composts for retail. These extend from multi purpose through to specialist composts, such as ericaceous, vegetable, seed and cutting and three John Innes equivalents, all rarely if ever seen before in a peat-free format.
