Team up with Johnsons
Published: 19 September 2007
As part of a new initiative to get kids outdoors and playing sport, Johnsons Lawn Seeds is donating rugby balls to local schools and youth organisations.
The scheme, which ties in with this year's Rugby World Cup, will allow garden centres to choose a local school or youth rugby club to benefit from a gift of six rugby balls. As an extra incentive, the garden centre will receive local press coverage and see an accompanying photograph published.
At the end of the year Johnsons will issue a list of garden centres and lucky recipients involved in the initiative.
Commenting on what inspired Johnsons to come up with the scheme, Spencer Goodall said: "We wanted to create something that would reach the end-user and get children fit and outside.
He added: "Garden centres are always getting gifts, but Johnsons wanted to give something to the community."
