Tefal has taken the top spot in Which?'s recent review of the best irons on the market.
The Tefal FV5260 Aquaspeed Ultracord came out with the highest score after racking up 87% in the test. All irons in the test group were rated on how easy they were to use, the results they gave, durability - which included steaming for 200 hours with deliberately hard water - and safety.
The verdict on the winning Tefal model was that it gave excellent results, heats up quickly, easy to fill and comfortable to use.
Close behind in second place was the Philips GC8220 with 85%, although an rrp of £180, it's in a different price league to the £45 Tefal iron.
It's stable mate, the Philips GC7230 came third with 84%, while the Bosch TDA8339GB Sensixx Comfort Protect and the Philips GC3332 EasyCare models came joint fourth with 73%.
