More than 1,000 superheroes - including Tembé DIY & Building Supplies' Guy Malam and Kevin Heath - will be donning capes, headbands and trainers to take part in the 2016 Virgin Money London Marathon on April 24.
Mr Malam and Mr Heath are raising money for the Children with Cancer UK charity, which is dedicated to fighting childhood cancer by funding research and welfare programmes.
Tembé DIY managing director Guy Malam said: "Thanks to research funded by Children with Cancer UK survival rates for the most common form of childhood cancer, leukaemia, have increased dramatically over the past 50 years, but for some rare types of cancer survival rates remain at zero. Tembé are proud to continue doing its part to help raise money for a cure."
It's a cause close to home for the staff at Tembé, many of whom live in or around Epworth, home to young boy Alexander Strong, who was diagnosed with neuroblastoma on Christmas Eve in 2009. Sadly, Alexander lost his battle with the disease in January 2013 after fighting for two years from the age of five.
