Tesco boss Dave Lewis has started the process of selling Dobbies Garden Centres as part of a clear out of "loss-making businesses", according to a Sky News report.
Mr Lewis has reportedly hired investment banking advisor Greenhill to work on selling Dobbies. It's all part of Mr Lewis' plan to rid Tesco of under-performing and/or non-core businesses acquired during Tesco's buying boom over the last 10 years.
Dobbies was bought by Tesco in 2008 under the direction of Sir Terry Leahy. It currently has 35 garden centres across the UK, but
recorded a £48m loss for its 2014/15 financial year.
Other Tesco-owned companies reported to be on the chopping block alongside Dobbies include restaurant chain Giraffe and coffee shop chain Harris & Hoole.
