Tesco takes on Tricity brand
The nine-strong range consists of a stainless steel kettle, two-slice and four-slice toaster, ceramic iron, digital slow cooker, breadmaker, stainless steel pro fryer, microwave with grill and microwave combination oven and grill. Prices start at £16.97 for the ceramic iron up to £99.97 for the combination microwave.

At its height in the 1950s, the Tricity brand has actually been in existence since the beginning of the 20th century. Electrolux now owns the brand.

The range will be available in store, online and through Tesco Direct from the beginning of October.

How long before they're selling Tricity brand fridges and cookers and dishwashers, undercutting yet another high street retail category with the support and encouragement of suppliers who wish to play in every category of distribution?
