Wholesaler Welch & Tidy welcomed contestants from 'The Apprentice' for last week's episode of the BBC TV show.
Episode 10 saw the two entrepreneurial teams visit the 55,000sq ft warehouse in Perivale on the hunt for goods to sell, with the aim of reinvesting their profits in more of the best-selling products.
Many of the items featured on the show were bought at the London wholesaler, including nodding dogs and emergency mobile phone chargers.
Sales director Ashmeet Kandhari told
DIY Week: "We were approached by the production team asking if we would allow the teams to shop at Welch & Tidy for the show. They were keen that we stocked a good range of fast-moving lines that the teams would be able to sell quickly and profitably. A member of their production team came out to see us a few days before the filming took place, and they certainly seemed impressed with our setup."
The main purpose of the task was to keep reinvesting in the fastest-moving products in order to grow profits, however, not all of the team members seemed to grasp this point, explained Mr Kandhari.
"I think the warehouse was a little overwhelming for the team members as they didn't know where to start from. I certainly have to give it to Melody as she actually seemed quite focused and was bold in purchasing goods. In comparison the other team were very conservative and lacked any desire to invest - so I wasn't surprised that Alan Sugar gave them a good telling off, as they completely missed the point of the task."
He added: "Jim is certainly an amusing character and on the day he spent a good five minutes sifting through our faulty and defective goods to try and salvage some products that he could have for free, until he got told off by the production team!"
The episode is available to watch
here on BBC iPlayer until July 24.
