“The buzz is back”, say Glee exhibitors

Exhibitors raved about this year's exhibition at the NEC Birmingham, calling the event 'refreshed' and 'much improved', whilst also praising the new format and location in halls 17-20.
A number of the suppliers and manufacturers DIY Week spoke to said they felt a real buzz and that there was a great atmosphere in the halls.
VegTrug international director Joe Denham said of the show: "It's much improved. I'm delighted with how the show has gone...The atmosphere is back - it's returned to the industry."
Bosmere's Steve Millington agreed with Mr Denham: "The move to new halls is very good. Glee needed it and show seems to have a new lease of life as a result of the change. It's nice to see the halls full and it has created a great buzz."
Though some had been sceptical about the move from Halls 4-6, where the show had been staged for some years, inevitably it was the new location and the fact that the show was open plan, with no partitions between the halls, that visitors and exhibitors delighted in the most.
Scheurich's Peter Taylor said the new format helps the show "flow better", while Vitavia Garden Products director Tony Hutchinson told DIY Week: "It seems to have fresh feel and have given it a new impetus. I'm pleased to see that the move of halls has meant that buyers are covering more of the show looking for suppliers on their hit list - it benefits everyone."
Official visitor figures are yet unknown but exhibitors reported quality leads from major garden retail businesses and leading independents.
Meanwhile, B&Q buyer Ben Smith told Glee: "The whole of our seasonal team is here looking for everything from bulbs to pots and leisure. We've seen loads of new products and have signed up several new lines. It's great to see so much innovation all around the show."
