Garden centre chain takes over the Walled Garden Centre at Elton Hall, marking the opening of its seventh outlet in the UK.
The centre is situated in the walled garden of Elton Hall on the A605 between Oundle and Peterborough, and was originally set up by Blooms of Bressingham in 1993.
The store contains an "orangery-style" garden and gift shop, as well as a restaurant and extensive plantarea.
The move extends The Garden Store's portfolio to a total of seven centres, with existing operations in Northampton, Daventry, Stratford-upon-Avon, Tamworth, High Wycombe and Wolverhampton.
The Garden Store's co-founder and operations director Neil Stevens said of the acquisition: "Our formula fits stores like this very well as we concentrate on plants and core gardening."
The firm already operates a successful garden centre in the grounds of a historic house in Charlecote Park, Stratford-upon-Avon and managing director and co-founder Marcus Eyles added that it was, "very exciting to be able to acquire another site in the grounds of a stately home".
