Bents Garden & Home has introduced 'The Green Crusader' - its very own superhero - as part of a new environmental campaign specifically aimed at children.
The character is on the hunt to find out how to make the world a greener place, and will ask children at the Cheshire centre for their ideas to help improve the environment and their local community.
Bents md Matthew Bent said: "The children who visit us as part of our Ready Steady Dig initiative are always really enthusiastic to find out more about nature and talk about the environment so we decided to create a brand new initiative where they could share their thoughts and ideas. We thought it would be really good fun to have out own special character to lead the way and are delighted to be joined by The Green Crusader!"
In 2007, Bents introduced its Five Green Footprints to promote recycling, water efficiency, healthy living, social responsibility and trading fairly and responsibly.
Following on from that concept, The Green Crusader is asking children to add their ideas in the form of their own footprints to his 'Planet Environ' wall in the family area of the centre's Fresh Approach restaurant.
Mr Bent added: "Our footprints state that if we call take small steps then together we can make a big difference. We are hoping children will add their own green footprints to our 'Planet Environ' wall which will demonstrate all the little steps we can take to help our environment and make the world a cleaner, greener and healthier place to be!"
