Among the centres featured in the top 50 were Scotsdales in Cambridgeshire, Barton Grange in Preston Lancashire, Sidmouth Garden Centre, Exeter, Webbs of Wychbold, Coolings Garden Centre in Kent, Clifton Nurseries in London, W9, Sunshine Garden Centre in Enfield, Gordale in Burton South Wirral and Grosvenor in Cheshire.

Judges included Graham Davies, Tad Paluchowski of Clifton Nurseries, Susan Fox, Russell Frost and Horticulture Week's Matthew Appleby, who said of one of the centres, Coolings: "Voted the best plant centre in the UK. The owner, Paul Cooling, is one of the best-loved characters of the garden-centre world and he knows a huge amount about his business."
